Founded in June 2018 by award-winning author of the novel Mourner’s Bench, Sanderia Faye, LitNight is a free, monthly reading series in Dallas, Texas that promotes diversity and literature to the greater community. LitNight’s mission is to establish Dallas as a city of ideas, where literature thrives and where we encourage conversations about critical topics such as race, gender, immigration, prison reform, religion, LGBTQIA+ issues, among other subjects. By inviting local and national authors to share and discuss their works with attendees, LitNight aims to create a space for the discovery of emerging authors as well as present an opportunity for the community to engage with established writers.
