Rebecca Balcácel

Rebecca Balcárcel loves popcorn, her kitty, and teaching students at Tarrant County College as Associate Professor of English. She authored Shine On, Luz Véliz!, due out in May 2022, and The Other Half of Happy (2019), a Pura Belpré Honor Book, ALSC Notable Book, and “a must-have for all library collections” according to School Library Journal. She is editing Bridges and Islands, a collection of short stories by multi-racial authors, coming in 2023.
